Advanced Structural design & Analysis in Etabs (ACI & Dubai Codes)

This course is a project-based structural engineering training program focused on international RCC building design workflows. This course teaches structural planning, modelling, analysis, load application, and stability checks using ETABS, strictly aligned with ACI 318, ASCE 7-16, and Dubai Building Code 2021.

Designed for civil and structural engineers aiming to work on international or Middle East projects, this course goes beyond software operation. You will learn how to apply engineering judgement, understand structural behaviour, perform manual load calculations, and validate design decisions using ETABS, exactly as followed in professional consultancy environments.

Instead of โ€œclick-basedโ€ software learning, the course emphasizes code-based design logic, load path understanding, wind and seismic behaviour, and stability verification for RCC buildings ranging from low-rise to high-rise structures. By the end of the course, you will be able to confidently execute international structural design projects using globally accepted standards.

Language: English

Total Training Hours: 22 Hrs of sessions

Course Curriculum

What Youโ€™ll Learn in This Course

Structural Planning & Drawings

  • Study architectural drawings and prepare structural plans, column layout plans, and centreline plans as per client and architect requirements.
  • Determine sizes and positions of columns, beams, slabs, staircases, drop panels, and shear walls as per ACI 318 Code.

ETABS Modelling & Analysis

  • Create complete RCC building models in ETABS using grid system and centreline methods.
  • Perform low-rise to high-rise RCC building structural modelling and analysis, including flat slab systems
  • Understand model behaviour through elevation views, rendered views, and model checks

Load Calculation & Application

  • Manual calculation and application of super-dead load, live load, wall load
  • Manual calculation and application of static wind loads and dynamic wind loads (gust factor) as per ASCE 7-16 & Dubai Building Code 2021
  • Manual calculation and application of static and dynamic earthquake loads
  • Understanding load combinations as per international codes

Structural Behaviour & Stability Checks
